Founded in 2016, Poladrone is a drone start up that focuses on putting forward drones as an industrial solution. Through integrating drones into the existing commercial workflow, we aim to solve operational problems and increase revenues.

 

The Job:

  • Building Control system software (AutoPilot) for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) 

  • Take on challenging problems in hardware sensing enablement including distance sensing, UAV localization, navigation and obstacle avoidance. 

  • Research and implementation of algorithms on control systems & UAV sensor technology. 

  • Actively collaborate with drone hardware engineers to optimize design, ensure functionality, support software production tool training and documentation. 

  • Design experimental flight tests to assess UAV subsystem performance in a real-world environment and provide feedback to technical teams. 

  • Work closely with AI engineer, UAV software engineer, mobile apps developer to develop autonomous drone software and On-edge AI systems. 

 

You should be familiar with:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace/Mechatronics /Electric & Electronic / software Engineering or equivalent qualification. 

  • At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing PCB and embedded hardware systems with associated technologies such as machine vision, motion control, path planning and flight control systems. 

  • Strong Coding abilities in C/C++, python, and familiar with Arduino programming to run hardware test. 

  • Hands-on experience testing and debugging circuitry, with a clear mastery of tools such as oscilloscopes, etc. 

  • Familiar with software development in a Github repository

  • Demonstrated experience with circuit design and analysis. 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Good to have:

  • Having expertise in drone localization and navigation, control systems and electronic circuit design. 

  • Having piloting experience and able to build and flight test UAVs such as multirotor drone and fixed wing UAs is an added advantage. 

  • Ability to work well under Agile/Scrum software development environment, and communicate clearly and effectively across teams. 

  • Experience developing, customizing, or implementing open-source UAV software, such as Ardupilot, PX4, MAVlink, mission planner or any relevant robot operating system (ROS) and familiar with GCS control software like Mission Planner and QGround Control.
